Beecher Finley Seegraves

The Town of Pleasant Hill will be lowering the flag to half-staff in the Beecher Seegraves Veteran's Memorial Park in memory of Beecher Finley Seegraves.


Beecher Finley Seegraves of Pleasant Hill, TN, passed away on January 30, 2023, at the age of 97. Beecher was born on March 22, 1925, to Milzie and Annie Seegraves. After serving in the U.S. Army in World War II, he returned to Pleasant Hill and married Odell Ramsey of Sneedville, TN. They were married for 52 years and had two sons, Barry and Vaughn.


Beecher was predeceased by his wife Odell; son, Barry; and daughter-in-law Cathy Welch Seegraves. He is survived by his son, Vaughn and his wife Shirley; grandchildren, Rochelle Rennert, Brian Seegraves, Justin Seegraves, and Benjamin Seegraves; daughter-in-law, Linda Seegraves; and 11 great grandchildren.


Funeral services will be held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at New Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Friday, February 3, 2023, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.


He will be missed.

Our Town

PLEASANT HILL sits on top of the Cumberland Plateau, which runs north and south through middle Tennessee, approximately mid point between Nashville, Knoxville and Chattanooga. The town has a land area of 1.55 square miles, .01 square miles of water and an elevation of 1896 feet.   European Americans first settled Pleasant Hill in 1819 and it was incorporated in 1903. Nestled in the softly rolling hills live 579 people.
